Hi I'm Donna

I love swimming, traveling, reading, and watching old movies. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. I am a Morman!

About Me

I am one of four children and grew up on a farm in North Carolina. We worked hard on the farm but had lots of fun riding horses and playing in the woods and streams near our house.. I am married and have two wonderful children and four precious grandchildren. I attended college and learned accounting and became a postmaster. I retired and have done some traveling. We especially like to visit historical sites and look forward to many more adventures while camping throughout this beautiful country of the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I chose to be a Mormon. I was an adult when I asked my husband to tell me something about his church. Before we could contact someone to come and teach me; the elders tracted to my door. They were so surprised when I said I was waiting for them and wanted to know about the church. This is just one example of many experiences that have proven to me how much Heavenly Father knows and loves me as an individual. He knew I was ready to hear the plan of salvation so he sent my dear elders to come and help me progress. They came to teach me each Thursday night after that until I was ready to be baptized. It took me about 4 weeks of earnest study and prayer to know the principles of the gospel were true. I have been a member about 40 years now. What is even more wonderful is that after all these years of being a member, my testimony has grown even stronger. I have gained knowledge and experiences that have enriched my life and the lives of my family members. I am grateful that we are given ways to serve others and grow personally at the same time in the church. I am so grateful that I was "found", taught, and given the opportunity to use my agency to make such a good and important choice for myself. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that He leads His church today through a living prophet even Thomas S. Monson. I love to read and study The Book of Mormon and know that it is truly the word of God along with the other scriptures. I know I am a daughter of Heavenly Father and He loves me and wants me to return home to Him someday. That's why He has provided a savior for us in His Son Jesus Christ. I express my love and gratitude to them for all they have done for me and hope to one day be worthy to live with them someday.

How I live my faith

I am a convert to the church and have been a member for about 40 years. During this time I have served in many callings, mostly with the youth. I have taught the children and youth from ages 3 years until 18 years old. I was in charge of the summer camp for young women a couple of times and that is an experience I will never forget. It was a very spiritual time when we all learned a lot about survival in the woods and about ourselves as individuals and as team members. What a truly wonderful camp experience! I have also been the activity chairman on a few occasions. The most memorable time was when I led the committee for a night in Bethlehem during one of the Christmas seasons. We turned the whole meetinghouse into the streets of Bethlehem. There were about 800 people that showed up and many said they could feel the true meaning of Christmas in those surroundings. I am happy around people and I go by how the Spirit prompts me and the feelings that I have inside. I love to serve others.
