Hi I'm Bettina

Magyarországról származom. Mormon vagyok és szeretek az lenni. I am from Hungary. I'm a Mormon and I love it.

About Me

I'm at college studying business and I also work part time. I enjoy outdoor activites such as going on hikes, go to the beach, go for a walk etc. I'm a big fun of animals and flowers. I like working on DIY things, I really enjoy making things especially for others as a gift. I find joy in the simple, everyday things of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was about four years old when my parents met the mormon missionaries. After having the discussions with the missionaries for a few months they decided to get baptized. I remember how things changed in my family for the better after the missionaries introduced the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to us. My parents stopped smoking and drinking coffee, and we started having family prayers. We started to go to church every Sunday, and give thanks for our food and ask for a blessing upon it before every meal. We made many new friends whom we could trust, and who cared about us. My father baptized me when I was 8 years old. At that time of course I did not understand as much as I do now, but I knew that God lives, His Son Jesus Christ is my brother and Savior. I knew it felt good going to church and reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible. As I grew older I wanted to know more about the teachings of the church and find out if they were really true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, and I knew I was at the right place. As a teenager being a member of this church meant that I had different standards than my friends. Sometimes it was hard for them to understand why I did not want to do certain things, and why I did go to church every Sunday. At the same time they respected me for my believes. When I was 20 I volunteered to serve a full time mission. I was a missionary for 18 months, just like the ones who came and taught my family. I know that without those missionaries, without the message they shared with my family my life would have been very different. I am grateful that my parents were willing to let them into our home and gave them a chance to share their message with us. I think there is good and some truth in every church, but I believe that this is the Church of Jesus Christ, and He is the head of this church. I'm glad that I belong to His church.

How I live my faith

Service is a big part of our faith and there are many opportunities to serve in the church. Currently I serve in the Relief Society which is the women's organization in the church. As part of my responsibilites I help organizing lessons and activities for the women of the congregation. I enjoy it, because it gives me opportunities to make new friends, to learn from others, and to strengthen my faith and understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Faith truly changes everything about the way I look at and react to things. Having faith in God and in his Son, Jesus Christ has been a great help, support, a source of happiness, and comfort in my life. I know that without my believes I would not be the same person, and I would not be as happy as I am now. Faith is not something that we are either born with or not. Rather, it is something that anyone can develop who has the desire to do so. Faith is a gift from God that we have to seek out. As we strive to find out more about Him, He will open our hearts and will plant the seed of faith in it. Then it is up to us to nourish and strengthen it. I live my faith as I try to become more like Christ. I believe He set the best example for us on how to treat others, how to react to people who are mean to us, how to serve, how to love and care about others etc. There is so much to learn from Him, and I find that when I'm able to apply His teachings in my life I'm more successful, my relationships are working better, and I am happier.
