Hi I'm Barbara Jo Brown Amos

I am a child of God. I am a Latter Day Saint. I grew up in Illinois, California, Arizona and Utah.

About Me

I am a daughter, sister, mother, niece, friend, manager and a business entrepreneur. I study at the local community college and am learning information and technology for business applications and non profit applications in the community which I live. I am diagnosed with several severe mental disorders which I have been learning to understand in the past 2 years more than ever. I am learning to love myself after suffering for many years with self destructive behaviors which I am beginning to overcome. I am becoming more aware of the responsibility I have to treat my disorders with respect and not to take my mental stability for granted. I believe I will be made whole through my Savior Jesus Christ but I must put forth the effort to understand and treat my illnesses as a threat to my salvation

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to show others that I believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that I want to follow his commands. The LDS Church is set up like the Church that Jesus set up after his death and resurrection. I have found peace in my soul through my participation with the LDS Church and its members and I believe that is the Holy Spirit telling me what I am doing is the right thing to do. I pray constantly for guidance and I give thanks through prayer constantly. I am able to express my feelings for God the Father and Jesus Christ openly and honestly through the Church of Jesus Christ and that is what makes me happy and content so that is what I do.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by attending meetings at my ward. I also read scriptures almost daily. (working on daily). I treat other people the way I would like to be treated. (with love and compassion). I contribute to my community by volunteering at local non profit organizations a couple times a month. I try to stay in the real zone by not gossiping or dragging anyone down with lies and drama.
