Hi I'm Dave

I am from the southeast, I love the outdoors, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love any activity that is outside, boating, rafting, fishing, hunting, rock climbing- you name it, I like those things! Motorcycles- specifically dirtbikes are a huge hobby of mine among with my jeep and fixing mechanical things. Archery is an activity I enjoy also. I am all about cars and trucks. One day I would like to own some land, and enjoy it with my family. I enjoy God's great creations; Earth, and nature. I am so blessed to have a healthy body and am able to explore, travel and appreciate it all.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel to be true. I believe with all my heart to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the restored gospel. The exact one that Jesus Christ himself built on the earth is here again today, and that is, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have read the holy scriptures, including the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to know if this is His restored gospel, and I have received an answer that it is. I know that there is a true, and living prophet of God today here on Earth. I simply cannot turn against my feelings and knowledge of the truth of this gospel. The spiritual experiences I have had are so great and dear to my heart. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior, that his father, our Heavenly Father sent him, and that the Great Plan of Happiness is the perfect plan.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in all the church activities I can. Right now I am serving a full time mission! It has been the most fulfilling time of my life, and I am thankful for the opportunity and blessings I receive each day I serve the Lord. Church activities and programs are my favorite things to do. I love the spirit I feel, the friends I have, the friends I make, and the fun memories I make at them. Sunday has always been a special day of the week to me. It is a day that I set aside from all the other days of the week. I look forward to church services, and family time most when I think of the Sabbath day.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

My understanding of the welfare program is to help other fellow human beings. Some of us are less fortunate than others, but we are all equal, and all of us are God's children. Christ himself came down, and served others by healing the sick and performing various miracles. This welfare program is one way that we can share Christlike love, and help thy neighbor. What is faith?

Faith is the hope and belief of things that are true, but not seen. Faith is like an action. As you exercise your faith in Jesus Christ, you will be blessed and your life will be better and your trials will not seem as hard. With faith in Jesus Christ, you know that He is there, and you can turn to Him, and His Gospel for support. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is very difficult to understand, and it is impossible to fully comprehend it all. I do know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important event of all history. The very event that time is based on. He suffered for us, so we don't have to. Whether we are suffering pain and guilt from sins, or other afflictions, we know that Christ endured these things, so we wont have to alone. We can turn to Him and follow him. Jesus Christ can and will always help us. We can be forgiven of our sins , and our burdens made easier because of what Christ did for me, for you, and for all of mankind. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Mormons do not practice polygamy. It has been a law that was used in the past, only when it was commanded by God. During certain time, it was a law that certain people were to follow, but not today. Early in church history there was a period when the law of polygamy was commanded by the Lord, but only to people called to do so. There were several cases in the Old Testament when polygamy was needed, so the Lord commanded people to do so. Just like then, there was polygamy in early church history. It is a law not practiced by the church this day. Not any member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints practices polygamy this day. It is not allowed by God or by God's ordained leaders here on earth today. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

A husband and wife are both equally needed in a family. They share responsibility and love for their children. They provide for the physical needs, as well as the mental and spiritual needs of the family, including each other and their children. The father should love and support the mother of the family as the mother would love and support the father. God placed us in families to learn to love, to grow, and to be happy. My family is the most important thing to me, and both my Mother and Father taught me that, and showed me through example with their love for each other, and their dedication to our Father in Heaven.
