Hi I'm Tamara

I am a retired kindergarten teacher. I am a mother of six children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the wonderful outdoors of Idaho, but I was actually born in L.A., Ca. My father worked in the aircraft factories during World War II. We returned to Idaho when I was two years old. After attending elementary schools and graduating from high school, I worked as a waitress then attended college. In 1962 I was married in the beautiful Idaho Falls temple for time and all eternity. I then finished college, and raised a family, five girls and one boy. In 1985 after 24 years of marriage my husband divorced me, at which time I went back to teaching full time. All the children are grown with children. There are now 25 grandchildren. No great-grands yet. I am presently serving a mission in Nauvoo, Il. It is great!

Why I am a Mormon

Thanks to my wonderful mother who took us, ( my brothers and I), to church, we learned of Jesus Christ and Father in Heaven from an early age. She also knelt with us and taught us to pray. Knowing how to pray is a wonderful comfort to me. Praying has been a great help during difficult times in my life. My father was not active in the church but he would sit and read in the bible regularly. We also prayed over our food at each meal, showing our gratitude for what we had been given. The church brings me great comfort and joy daily. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by thinking of and treating people I meet as my brothers and sisters- children of a God who is our Father in Heaven. Kindness, love, and service are the best medicine we can give in this world. In practice I also attend meetings on Sunday and attend the temple regularly to perform work for ancestors who have passed on. Family history is a great and interesting part of living our faith. In addition I read scriptures, study, abstain from alchohol, drugs, tobacco, unwholesome media, & profanity, trying to seek after things that are praiseworthy and of good report.
