Hi I'm Pat Olson Or Trish

I'm a mother, grandmother great- grandmother. I have worked in Scouting for 40 plus years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am Pat or Trish to some & I am a Mormon. I love to bottle fruits & veggies. I used to do a lot of it, not as much now. Quilting, some crafts, 4-wheeling, camping & want to search for ancestors. I love people, all kinds, colors, shapes & sizes. Also love the scouting program, even though I'm not involved anymore. I worked at a mink farm for extra money, at an Office Supply store & at a bank as a teller & retired after 15 years. We have been married for 53 year, 5 children, 16 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. The most important thing we can do in life is to be a mother & live as Jesus Christ teaches that we should live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because there is a feeling I get when I am in their buildings, in their homes & around these people I can not deny. I now understand that it is the Holy Ghost testifing of the truths that are taught and lived by this wonderful group of people that are trying to live as Jesus teaches us in the Bible. Because I love people I love giving service that this Church is so fully involved in. People really care about each other. I was baptized at the age of 17, after asking my parents the first time if I could join the Church at the age of about 12 and they said no becauce I did not give them a good enough reason for joining. My class at church were going to be baptized for the dead and I wanted to go, but to do that I had to be baptized myself first. I decided that the next time I ask I would now the Church was true, that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of the Holy Ghost. When I ask the next time, Dad ask me two questions, are you ready to live it and do your friends know? My friends didn't know and I was ready to live it so was baptized. We are now serving a mission in Nauvoo and love the members and non-members we meet, hoping that what they hear and feel here in Nauvoo will make a difference in their lives as it has in mine. When you have good thing you like to share and we have "a pearle of great price in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

How I live my faith

I have been involved for 40 plus years in scouting, which I have loved, mostly with 11 year old boys & leaders of the scouting program. Scouting has changed a great deal over the years, but the scouting aims & ideals are the same. Scouting has taught me a lot of leadership skills. I have been to all kinds of scout training's, been to Woodbadge, Philmont & am a Silver Beaver. I have taught the young & youth for many years in my church assignments & have visited in the homes of many women in a women's service oriented organization in the Church of Jesua Christ of Latter Day Saints, known as the Relief Society. I have had so many spiritual experiences, in scouting as well as in my church callings & in my personal life.
