Hi I'm Jessie

I'm a college student. I'm in love with music. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a college student in Utah studying Family and Consumer Sciences Education (FCSE). I'm the youngest of 5 kids in a blended family. My parents got divorced when I was 10, but it has turned me into the strong woman of God that I am today. I'm generally very optimistic and always look on the bright side of life, even through your trials there is no need to be unhappy; you aren't given anything that Heavenly father knows you can't handle...Singing is truly my passion, I honestly don't know where I would be without music! I love to read, write, and dance as well. I'm just a girl with a love for life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and I always knew it was true, but there was one particular instance where I had absolutely no doubt, and that experience has been with me ever since. When I was 16 I attended EFY (Especially For Youth camp) for my third and final time. This year I decided to be a part of the choir, something I was so excited for. One day as we were rehearsing in a chapel and we were singing the hymn "I believe in Christ." I don't recall at what part of the song it was, but I remember having an overwhelming feeling come over me that what I was singing was true. I was standing next to the aisle and I felt that if I had turned around at that moment Christ would be standing there, arms open wide, waiting for me to run to embrace them. That very minute I knew without a doubt in my mind that Christ lives and that He loves me and knows who I am personally, as he knows each and every one of us! His spirit was with me that day in the chapel, I know that!! And I know that it continues to be with me, so much as I choose to follow him and his teachings. I'm a Mormon because I love the feeling that comes with the truth. I'm a Mormon because I love knowing that my family can be together for Time and all Eternity. I'm a Mormon because with God on my side I'm never alone. I'm a Mormon because I know that Christ Lives!

How I live my faith

At the Logan Institute of Religion I've been asked to serve as the Music President for the 2014-2015 school year. Basically I'm over both of the choirs at the institute and all other things that involve music. I love being able to share what I personally believe to others through music, and I honestly can't think of a better way to share my testimony!
