Hi I'm Loraine

I’m old, but still like to have fun! I love to shop, relax, spend time with family and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

Many, many years ago when I was young I loved my dancing lessons. Back then it was called acrobats. I could walk across the room on my hands and up and down stairs on my head. Pretty tricky, huh! Actually, my mom made a cap with some foam padding on top of my head and my dad made some stairs. I would do a head stand on the bottom step and then push myself up to the next step and then down the other side. I loved dancing and continue to love it today – however, not on my head or hands – just staying on my feet is a challenge sometimes. Another love I have is being a hypnotherapist, I only have time to do this part time since I work full time for the county. There is so much power in our thoughts and I love helping people be released from their negative beliefs through the tool of hypnosis. Being a mother and having a family is definitely the greatest love of all, although there were times during the teenage years I would have liked to have fast forwarded some parts, but we all learned from it and survived. This is just one of the reasons I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and being a Mormon. It gives us the opportunity to continue to live with our loved ones as a family for all eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents took me to church with them each Sunday and when I was eight years old I got baptized. I continued to attend church throughout my life. I was taught, I believed and I asked and felt the spirit confirm to me that it was true. I never really doubted until I had some very painful experiences and wondered “why me”. I am happy to say I weathered the storm and came out on the other side. I had the help of my Savior and now have a very close relationship with him and have no doubt of whether or not this is His church. In order to find out for yourself, you must first learn about it, test it by living it and ask God for yourself. It is a perfect plan of happiness for this life and for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I’m not perfect but I do my best each day to try to develop the traits of Jesus Christ such as being kind, loving and serving others. He is my example and my Savior. I have served as a teacher and leader for the youth and adults throughout my life. No one is paid for their service including our bishop who donates many, many hours for the benefit of others. Children at a very young age learn to speak in front of others giving talks and prayers and teenagers have wholesome fun activities. Meals are brought in during times of illness and if we are all doing our callings faithfully, everyone is visited once a month giving each other a spiritual boost and great friendships are created. We feel like one big loving family. We don’t just serve each other we do many humanitarian projects throughout our community and throughout the world. I believe that when you are in the service of others you are in the service of God and that is how I try to live my life.
