Hi I'm Julia

I grew up in Utah. I write young adult fiction stories, I love the out doors, and enjoy cross stiching. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second youngest of 10 children, 2 of which are adopted from the D.R. Congo Africa. I have 19 nieces and nephews who are more like cousins we're so close in age. I am currently in college working towards being a young adult fiction author and possibly elementary education. I love reading and writing. Lord of the Rings are my favorite books and movies, I have read the Hobbit twice. I also love hiking and biking. My favorite trail leads to this beautiful little waterfall. I love mountains and waterfalls, they are some of God's greatest creations. My favorite bible story is the good Samaritan.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but as I became older I began to question it. My parents where supportive in my journey of gaining my own testimony and helped answer my questions, but I was still unsure. One day on a trip to Temple Square in Salt Lake City I was gazing at the temple and my mind began to wonder. I thought about all the early saints who had sacrificed so much to get to Utah and all they went through to build this temple. They did all these hard things because of their testimonies in the gospel. Looking at the temple I felt a calm peace pass over me and I knew that this church was true. It wasn't any big realization, I just knew it. Since then I have continued to learn all I can about the gospel and have watched my testimony grow stronger every day because of it. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

In church I have a wonderful calling as being a part of the presidency in our women's group. Specifically I am the secretary in charge of attendance and paperwork. I love working with the women in my ward. I am in a Young Single's ward which has ages 18-30, so most everyone in the ward is in the same boat as me. I also enjoy visiting teaching with my friend. Our girls are always welcoming and happy to see us.
