Hi I'm Emma

I'm a musician. I'm an athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Emma. I'm a softball, volleyball and basketball player. I play the piano, guitar, and I sing. I'm an average high school student trying to survive in this crazy world, Most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the blessing to be born into the Church, although conversion wasn't very easy for me. Growing up, and to this day, it is hard to tell your friends that you can't go anywhere on Sunday. I am an athlete and I sometimes have Sunday practices, and I just have to let my coach know why I cannot go. The church didn't make sense at a younger age. Why could all my Christian friends do things on Sunday and I couldn't. It took awhile, but I finally had the realization that everything I have been learning was true. The Bible and Book of Mormon are powerful and from God. I am a Mormon because being part of the church brought a joy that I had been missing for a long time, into my life. I am a Mormon because the Church gives me the stability I need in my life. I am a member of this church because it is of God, and true. I am a Mormon because the Church has the family dynamics I want when I have Children. I am a Mormon because I am a divine daughter of God, who deserves eternal life through him.

How I live my faith

I go to a small private school where my brother and I are the only members. Often, the Church get brought up in our discussions as non-believers. I am put in many situations where students and teachers are actively persecuting my religion. When it happens, I try to explain that they are wrong. I live my faith by following my standards. Being in high school, there are many temptations whether it is drugs, drinking, or sexual behaviors. I live faithfully and follow my For Strength of Youth book, because I know that it is there to keep me protected. By doing all of this, it gives the students and teachers at my school a visual representation that us Mormons are Christians and Godly people.
