Hi I'm Sister-Elizabeth Jeffrey

I grew up near Boston, MA. Daughter of convert parents. Missionary serving in the California Santa Rosa Mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I’m twenty-two years old and I grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I'm serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Santa Rosa Mission, for eighteen months. I'm a Theater major studying at Brigham Young University Idaho. I’m the oldest of three children, I have two younger brothers. I am passionate about acting, especially Shakespeare. I love to dance and recently acquired a love for ballroom dancing while attending college. I love to be outside and enjoy nature; there’s no more beautiful view than when you’re on top of a 4,000 foot mountain. Life is grand! I love being a missionary and serving the Lord the best I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this faith and therefore have been taught and guided by loving parents, and members, and leaders of the church. I’m striving to live the principles of the gospel in my life. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings me the greatest joy and fulfillment in my life. I know that God is our all-knowing, loving Heavenly Father, and He loves and knows each of His children perfectly. I know that there is a Plan of Happiness where families can be sealed together for eternity. I know that Jesus Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and took upon Him the sins of the world so that we can repent of our sins and one day return to live with Him again. I am so grateful I can turn to my Heavenly Father in prayer and receive answers and guidance for my own life. I know these things because I have received a witness of their truthfulness by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. I love serving as a full-time missionary for the church in California. I love people and want to help them feel the love that God has for them. I’ve read the Book of Mormon and know of it’s truthfulness and great power. You can too.

How I live my faith

I strive to become better everyday, by reading the scriptures, saying my prayers, and serving others. I grew up a member, but my parents are converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were introduced to the church when Sister Missionaries moved into the apartment next door to them and asked if they would take the discussions. My parents loved the message that their family could be together forever and how death was not the end. My dad was baptized first and then baptized my mom and the rest is history. I’ve attended my church meetings and youth activities throughout my life. I’ve been blessed to be called as a teacher in church settings on many occasions. Before leaving on my mission I was called to be a teacher over the woman in the Young Single Adult Ward (women ages 18-30). I loved discussing gospel topics with the sisters in my class. My own faith was strengthened when I heard from these sisters about their convictions and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a missionary I live my faith everyday by helping others come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End. How great is my calling!
