Hi I'm Jacob

I enjoy playing a wide variety of sports such as soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing a variety of sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, soccer, basketball, and hiking. I helped start the Ultimate Frisbee club at my high school and love playing the sport. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember, playing competition soccer for one year. I also enjoy traveling and have been to Mexico, Canada, and Ireland along with many of the states in the United States. In my spare time I like to work with my hands and build things. I enjoy building and launching model rockets and turning wooden or plastic pens. I love playing Legend of Zelda, any of the games in the series, but I especially enjoy Twilight Princess and Windwaker. I have been playing the piano for about 9 years and enjoy composing my own music. I also played percussion for five years, but gave that up when I got into high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church upon the earth today. I know this because I have studied and applied the principles that the Church teaches and know them to be good. My parents are devoted members of the Church, but I have learned for myself that this gospel is true. I gained a knowledge of the Book of Mormon by studying it and have never had doubts concerning it being the word of God. I have received a witness for myself that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I love reading the stories and applying its teachings in my life. It has enriched my life greatly. The teachings of the Church have brought me peace into my life because of the knowledge and understanding that it has blessed me with. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that it is by him and through him that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I know that Christ came to this Earth in the meridian of time by divine design and that he lived a perfect life so that he could atone for our sins. I am so grateful for his sacrifice and the strength it gives me. I know that everybody on this earth is a child of our Heavenly Father who wants us to succeed. This testimony has guided me in my everyday actions. It makes me want to be good and help those around me. It gives me a purpose and foundation in my life that without I would be lost.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for my whole life and have been actively participating in my community and ward. I served as the youth leader for the twelve and thirteen year old young men for a period of seven months. I started hometeaching a couple of months before I turned fourteen because they were about to redo the routes and companions. I actively participate in Boy Scouts of America and have reached the rank of Eagle Scout when I turned sixteen. I then served as an assistant to the bishop over the sixteen and seventeen year old young men. I occasionally teach my Sunday school class, but not very frequently.
