Hi I'm Jayne Livingston

I'm from Auburn, California. I'm serving in the Ohio Cleveland Mission and Historic Kirtland Visitors' Center, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Vista, California but moved to Auburn, California when I was 14 years old. I am the middle of seven children, and I love my family more than anything. In high school, I played water polo and was on the swim, cross country, and track teams. Before my mission, I studied Photography for a year at Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho. Though I am by no means an expert, I love playing piano and violin, and singing. My favorite things in life are spending quality time with people I love, learning new things, and laughing, preferably out on the lake.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I was born into a strong LDS family, I have been blessed with the opportunity of attending church for as long as I can remember. Though I have always felt good and uplifted upon returning home from church meetings, simply being born into this church did not grant me an automatic knowledge of the truthfulness of it. However, through personal scripture study, prayer and regular church attendance, I have come to know that it truly is Christ's church restored on the Earth today. I have come to the realization that everything good in life comes through righteous living and by being obedient to the teachings and principles that this church focuses on. Being a member of this church gives me a better understanding of why things happen the way they happen and has allowed me to look at life through a new perspective. I am blessed every day with the confirmation that my Heavenly Father loves me and has a plan for me, as I strive to gain an even deeper understanding of the teachings of the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

I have always been an active member in my church. All throughout high school, I attended an early morning seminary that focused on helping us gain a better understanding of the teachings and doctrines found in both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Though difficult at times, starting my day off each morning with seminary was such a blessing in my life. It gave me motivation and courage to stand up for what I believe, even when I was alone. Studying at Brigham Young University-Idaho has truly helped me better live my faith, as I am constantly surrounded by people who lift me up and share the the same standards as the ones I have set for myself. Each day, I wake up with the same goal--to become a more Christ-like person than I was the previous day. As a result, I have found that I am able to see people for who they really are, children of God. Because of this, I have an even stronger desire to treat them in a more respectful manner. I am also currently a missionary in the Ohio Cleveland Mission and get the privilege of serving in the Kirtland Historic Visitors' Center! Sharing this gospel with others brings me so much happiness, it has been such a blessing in my life. I am overall a happier person because I live my faith.
