Hi I'm Bob Purcell

I'm self-employed, blessed with a lovely wife, three children, and nine grandchildren (so far). Life is great.

About Me

I have lived in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Japan (10 years), Hawaii, and Utah. I met Heather (from Melbourne, Australia) in 1976 at Ricks College, shortly before I left to serve a two-year mission in Japan. We married a few months after my return in 1978. I work hard in order to enjoy life with my family. My faith and my family are most important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been blessed with righteous parents, I was taught from a young age about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As my belief and faith developed, even at a young age, I had a strong desire to serve a mission when I turned 19. When that time came, I was called to serve in Japan. Those two years were a time of hard work, learning, and spiritual growth which provided a strong foundation for my future. I have witnessed the power of God in my life and in the lives of many others. With Heavenly Father's help, I know I can get through tough times, overcome weaknesses, repent when I make mistakes and receive forgiveness through the atonement of Jesus Christ, and look forward to each day. I try to honor Him by doing my best and by trying to help those around me. I am a Mormon because I feel the love of my Heavenly Father. I recognize His hand in my life. I am thankful for His overflowing blessings. He hears my prayers. He guides me. The Book of Mormon teaches His doctrine and testifies of His son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Everyday, I express gratitude to Heavenly Father for the abundant blessings He provides. Life is full of opportunities. Whether at home, at work, or in social situations, I try to remember that I am a son of God and am therefore eligible for His help.
