Hi I'm Jayson

I grew up in a small Utah town called Smithfield. I am a sports enthusiast. I love making friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student. I am studying exercise science with hopes of someday becoming a Physical Therapist. I love sports! Always have, hopefully always will. My favorites are basketball and soccer but I am always willing to play anything! I played soccer for my high school and had an absolute blast! The life lessons I learned from being on a team will be ones I will never forget! I also love to travel. Most recently I have taken a vacation back east with my family, we visited many states from New York to Missouri and many in between. It was awesome being able to see and experience different cultures, even though I was still in the US! I also love making new friends. Getting to know people and listening to their unique stories and what their passions are is very interesting to me. I love the different views people have based on their life experiences. I also love to help people. I hate to see people struggling, so I try to help those that I can whenever possible. Bullies are the thing that I hate most and food is the thing that I love most. Cheesecake and tacos are my favorite.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the only place where I can find pure, everlasting, eternal joy. Everything else on this earth that I have found joy in is only temporary. Dunking a basketball can bring me joy for a few minutes. Hanging out with my best friends can bring joy for a few hours. But knowing that I can be with my family and friends and have the ability to live in the presence of God forever, that is a joy that is eternal. There is nothing that I want more than to live eternally with my loved ones. Another reason I am a Mormon is because of the opportunity to repent and be perfected. My desire to be with my family forever drives me to live my life in a way that will allow me to be accepted into God's presence. However, being a human, I make mistakes. Lots of them. And the Church of Jesus Christ allows me to repent and be forgiven of my sins. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living and obeying the teachings in the scriptures. In the scriptures we are taught to love others as Jesus Christ loved us. So in everything that I do, I strive to do them with love, patience, compassion, and an open, non-judgmental mind. In my home ward I am a Sunday school instructor. I am in charge of teaching the fourteen year old youth in my ward. At first this was very difficult because I am not much older than them and was nervous that I wouldn't receive respect or wouldn't be able to keep their attention. But it has been an incredible experience for me. Not only do they listen, but they actively participate! It is amazing what can be done when you are teaching the doctrine of Jesus Christ and the sweet spirit that comes along with teaching such doctrine. I have also learned some valuable lessons from teaching this class. They have taught me patience, love, the importance of studying, and many more things. These lessons that I have learned tie in perfectly with how I try and live my faith. So I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to teach these wonderful young men. Another way that I live my faith is by trying to share my knowledge of the Church of Jesus Christ with others. I try to serve others and help them to understand why we do the things we do and the blessings that can come from living and obeying the teachings and commandments of the Church.
