Hi I'm Cassidy

Raised in Northern California and New Jersey, I am a university student pursuing a degree in elementary education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Boise Idaho, I am the fourth of seven children. Growing up, we moved about every four years. That said, when people ask me where I'm from, I say New Jersey and Northern California. I loved growing up with so many siblings. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in elementary education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by members of this church. That said, I had to learn for myself, whether or not I believed that the principles and teachings that are taught, are true. When I was about eleven years old, I decided that I wanted to know for myself. So, I began reading the Book of Mormon every night. In addition, my prayers to God, became more meaningful and sincere. Over time, my faith in different aspects in the Gospel became unshakeable. For instance, as I continued to read the Book of Mormon, I recognized that reading it, brought me peace and joy. Later on, I found that the Book of Mormon could be a source to look to when I was seeking for answers or clarity in my life. Through continual prayer, scripture study, and church attendance, I now know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and wants to help me. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated through the power of God, by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the words contained therein are from God, and can bring one a unmeasurable sense of joy, peace, and assurance. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for me. Through the Atonement, the burden of sin and sadness can be lifted off my shoulders, and I can return to live with God again. I know that the church is led today my a living Prophet. I know that through the Plan of Salvation, I can live with my family forever. This is a small part of what I know, and will come to know for myself. This knowledge is my rock, it means everything to me.

How I live my faith

Living my faith means trying to be a little better each day. For me this generally means, having the courage to repent, say sorry, and move forward. I try to live my faith by simply being a friend to others and looking outside of my own needs. Despite my many imperfections and faults, I want to be a little more like the Savior each day. There are people all around in need of a kind word or smile, I hope I can influence many around me each day.
