Hi I'm Jeni

Grew up in utah, I went to USU, then served a mission in Italy. I am now at BYU studying industrial design and loving it.

About Me

I believe that we are all artists. So many of your decisions in life involve art. You choose what to wear, what dishes to buy for your house, where to place the decorations, etc. Being an artist has been very fulfilling. It's what I love doing, and I love creating things that simplify life. After serving in Milan Italy, I learned even more about recognizing the beauty that surrounds us. Nature is one of the most beautiful creations around. I try to take the time to enjoy a beautiful sky, or the lighting on mountains, so that I can more fully appreciate this life we have been blessed with. God is the ultimate creator, and creating/designing is such a good way to use your talents to bless others. I also love to speak Italian. It has become a passion. I currently get to teach missionaries Italian as they prepare to go to Italy. I would love to return to Italy one day to reconnect with loved ones. And also enjoy an incredible culture once again. I love art, and Italian.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I don't want anyone to think that that is the reason I belong to this church, because honestly it isn't. I have found myself to be very skeptical about a lot of things. This Church was no exception. I had to learn for myself. So I did my research by going straight to the source. I read the Book of Mormon. It's teachings felt true. I prayed about it, and felt that those things did happen, and that it's teaching would lead me to happiness. That's what everyone wants. Right? Everyone is looking for happiness, some people just look in the wrong places. So from my experiences in life, and what I've learned and felt, here is what I know; I know that we have a God, who loves and cares about us. He knows us each individually and is there to help us. I know that he loves us so much that he provided a way for us to communicate with him through prayer. I know that he sent his son here to earth to atone for our sins and to die for us. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored the church to the earth. And I know that this church is true. I know that it's teachings testify of Christ, and bring us closer to God.

How I live my faith

Religion should make us better people. I strive everyday to do better and to be better. I try to get out of my own box of struggles and try to help others deal with their troubles in life. I find it seems to even help me. It's a cool little cycle. Serving others has always brought me joy. And when I find myself stuck in life, it's usually because I've stopped focusing on service. I know that life is hard for all of us, but my faith gives me strength in times when I feel broken, it gives me direction when I feel lost. I don't know where I would be without the help of the LDS church in my life, and the principles learned being applied.
