Hi I'm Les

I'm an inventor, I love art, being in nature, commas, and working at home so my kids can distract me all day, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an inventor/entrepreneur and wish I had more time to be an artist. I invented an improvement to a centuries old drawing aid and the bulk of my work time is spent running the business built around selling this device. I also recreate other old optical devices that I sell all over the world for use in homes, schools, museums and films. I am married to a beautiful intelligent caring woman who is my equal in matrimony, my superior in all things spelling, my vanquished in all things boardgames, and mother to my 4...no make that 5 children. And not just any children—the (totally objectively speaking) cutest and sweetest kids in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but I'm actively involved in the Church because I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. I am a very skeptical person by nature (just ask my wife). I like to see the first-hand evidence for myself. The whole message of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the world, and what I would say to you, is come hear and read the words of life and then meditate and pray privately and test them in your life, and God will manifest the truth of these things to you personally. I have felt again and again the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost that this Church is true. I feel a undeniably real power of peace strength cleansing and direction in living the laws and ordinances of the Restored Gospel that are only found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is why I am a member of this Church. That is why I am a Mormon. “For flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto [me], but my Father which is in heaven.” -Matthew 16:17

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to stay close to the Spirit. I try, imperfectly, to do the things that bring me closer to God, which also bring me closer to my family and help me love my fellowman. Things like prayer, scripture study, serving others, balancing my time between personal worship, family, work and church. I try to live up the what God has revealed to me and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I make an effort to defend anyone who is being attacked or criticized, especially when they are not there to defend themselves. And I try to speak about other people as if they can always hear my words; I do this to help me remember to respect the dignity of another person's reputation. I fall short all the time, but I get back up and try again—God is forgiving and I keep learning.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Les
If you want to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, just click “VISIT” on the navigation at the top of the page, then choose the “Meet with Missionaries” option. The missionaries will first get to know you a little bit to understand where you are coming from and what it is you want to know. They will be there to answer questions and discuss what we believe with you. The first and most important thing they will cover is that God is real. He is your loving Heavenly Father, and you are a child of God. Everything else is built on this foundation: the truth that God loves you. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for us because He loves us. God restored His church in the latter-days because He loves us. If you are sincere in your desire to know and change, God will reveal the truth of all things by the power of the Holy Ghost because He loves you. Show more Show less
