Hi I'm Devin

I have been called to serve a mission in Colorado Springs and can't wait to get out there! and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the second oldest of five boys, my mom has home schooled me and my brothers for twelve years and i just graduated this year. I like doing outdoor activities and playing games with my friends and family and i love visiting my relatives wherever they may be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have grown up reading the scriptures and learning about them and know they are true. I didn't know it at first, i would live off of the testimonies of those around me until i turned twelve and thought if i am going to receive the Aaronic Priesthood soon that I should have my own testimony of the Priesthood. So after praying and asking to know it was true, I got my answer and ever since that day there has never been any doubt in my mind that I will serve a mission and try to teach others of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have graduated four years of early morning seminary, waking up at 5:30 in the morning to meet at my church to learn and discuss more about the gospel and to have the spiritual help every morning to get me through my day. I just had my last temple trip as a youth and we went to the Portland temple for a special occasion and to show the other youth what it was like to visit another temple. I was able to do the baptizing this time which made it even more special for me. I go to church every week and strive to read the scriptures and study the gospel.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Devin
We do proxy baptisms because baptism is essential to everyones eternal salvation, countless people have passed away without having the opportunity to be baptized, and without a physical body they cannot be baptized, so in order to allow everyone the chance to choose we preform these baptisms, and whether or not they accept the gospel is for them to decide.
