Hi I'm Emily

I was the youngest of 5 but am now the oldest of 7. I was adopted when I was 6. I'm Marshallese and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 7 kids. Six of my siblings are adopted, including myself. Being the oldest can be a lot of pressure at times with all the responsibilities but I love being an older sister. I love to play basketball. I love to dance and listen to music. I love to travel and have had the opportunity to see some of Europe and Africa. One day I want to visit the Great Wall of China. I love to be with my friends and have a great time. However, at the end of the day, my family is whom I go back to. They are always there for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because Christ's teachings are true. How do I know this? I sincerely searched and prayed. I didn't want to waste my time on something that wasn't true. No one can deny that warm, powerful feeling in your heart from the Spirit when he tells you something is true. And that is what I got when I asked if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. It's true. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of us unconditionally and I have always loved knowing that. The gospel of Jesus Christ is where I can find eternal peace, comfort, and happiness and I couldn't be happier with that.

How I live my faith

I believe strongly that our actions speak louder than our words so I try to live my life honestly and the way Christ would want me to. Having the gospel in my life has given me a bigger perspective, an eternal perspective, on life and because of that I try to keep a positive outlook on life. I see my friends who are struggling to find some meaning to their lives and I try to share with them my testimony of the peace, comfort, and direction the gospel of Jesus Christ has given me.
