Hi I'm Ryan Walker

I'm from Clovis, CA. I've been running for half of my life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a runner since 4th grade. Running is what got me into college. I have completed my Freshman year and I plan to go back to the same school once I get home from my mission. I am an Eagle Scout, I organized a dog shelter to be built and had collected over $1300 worth of dog food. I like reading, especially comics. I like playing role-play style video games. And I also love singing.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't put too much thought as to why I'm a Mormon. What I mean by that is, my reasons are so simple, that it doesn't cause too much confusion. I think that the LDS church has much more clarity than any other Faith. I believe that a person is able to feel the Spirit more when they have the fullness of the Gospel in their lives. Although I have never had any miraculous experiences in my life, because of my family's situation, I know that I am receiving miracles every day. My youngest of three sisters was born with half-of-a-heart; she is now 12 years old. She has had three open heart surgeries and the fact that she has been alive this long and still shows no signs of major heart failure is a miracle. I have a testimony that President Monson is the true prophet and leader of God's church on the Earth at this time. I believe in the Book of Mormon, there is no doubt in my mind that the experiences of the people in the book are true and that their testimonies of Christ are heart felt. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of the world. I believe that their is a Greater Plan in store for everyone, the Plan of Salvation has the potential to make anyone have a testimony of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I've gone to the Clovis 3rd Ward, Fresno East Stake. I've been a home teacher, or a person who visits two or three families, with my dad since I was 12 years old. Currently, I am a Primary teacher, I teach the 11 year olds and it is a blast. I'm also part of my ward choir. I've been singing in it since I was 12 years old.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ryan Walker
Members of the LDS church know that everyone on this Earth are spiritual brothers and sisters. Most people would help members of their family when called upon. We would hope that LDS people would treat everyone like their family. As the second great commandment states, We are to, "love thy neighbor as thyself." Show more Show less
