Hi I'm Risa

My family is the most important thing in my life. I love to swim, read, and go to the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Virginia. I love spending time with my family and playing sports. I played field hockey and swam all throughout high school. I just graduated from a two year community college with my associates degree. I am getting ready to serve a full time mission in Sacramento, California. When I return, I plan get my Masters degree in Elementary Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the immense happiness and joy that it brings in my life. My mother is a covert and my father has been a member all of his life. They have raised both my brother and I in the church. However, the rest of my family members do not go to church and through this I have been able to see huge difference between our families. The gospel brings families closer together. We understand how important families are because we know that through the gospel families can be with one another for all time and eternity and I am so grateful for that blessing in my life. Through being a member of this church I also understand that I am truly a daughter of God and that He loves me and knows me personally. I am so grateful for this gospel and all of the knowledge that we are given.

How I live my faith

The best way I live my faith is by serving others and being a good example. I try my best to be aware of the needs of those around me and see if I can help them out in any way.I've seen that as I've tried my best to be thoughtful and help those in need, people tend to have a more positive view of the church because they are able to see who you are and what you stand for. Another way I will be living my faith is by serving a full time mission. By doing so, I will be able to share the fullness of the gospel with others and share with them the joy and comfort that comes with it.
