Hi I'm Tina

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother of 3 and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small rural community in Oregon. High school provided me many opportunities to explore talents and interests (cheerleading, dance, student council, theater) and I was blessed to have some amazing friends who shared their faith with me. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 16. I later attended BYU, where I met my husband. My husband and I own our own business and get to work from home which gives us the flexibilty of time to be highly involved in our children's lives. My children are my first hobby, but I also enjoy canyoneering, rappelling and triathlons. I also love to cook and recreate cuisine from around the world. Being an aunt is almost as much fun as being a mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a blended family with no formal religious practices, but I was taught high moral values like honesty, integrity and hard work. When I was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ it made sense to me and gave me a sense of peace. I attribute much of that peace to the confidence I feel when I include my Father in Heaven in the important decisions I make in my life. When I know I am following the path the Lord has planned for me, I have no fear. It is painful for me to see people I love suffer the consequences of unwise decisions.

How I live my faith

I love serving the members of my ward family. I currently serve as President of the Young Women organization and get to work with my two daughters. It is so fulfilling to work along side other women of faith as we teach and nurture the 12-18 year old girls. The world is a scary place to grow up in. We get to teach these beautiful girls that they are precious daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. We get to watch them grow in confidence and learn to love one another. Serving my community outside of church is also important to me. I have served several years in PTA presidencies and on a school community council. I have served for several years on the board of a community theater and helped produce musicals with casts exceeding 150 people. My son just graduated from high school and I spearheaded a drug and alcohol free all night grad party. Mostly I just try to exemplify the principles of faith, charity and love, as our Savior, Jesus Christ, taught. Living those principles brings light to my life, and I pray it will have some affect on the people around me.
