Hi I'm Kristen

I'm a student studying to be an elementary teacher. I love smiling, laughing, and having fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my Freshman year at Brigham Young University studying Elementary Education and I have loved it so far! College has been a blast. I've met the most amazing people and have learned so much. I love hanging out with my friends and family, making crafts, and just having fun. I laugh all the time. My favorite quote ever is by President Hinckley's sweet wife, Marjorie: "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." I try to live by that because life can be so fun! I love life! My best friends in the world are my family- my Mom and Dad, my oldest sister who recently got married, my older brother, and my little sister. They are my biggest blessing! We love each other, laugh with each other, help each other, and bring each other so much joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is my biggest blessing! It brings me so much joy and peace. It makes perfect sense to me- a loving Father would not leave His children to suffer without light and knowledge, so He has blessed us with prophets, scriptures, and covenants. A few years ago, my dear grandpa passed away. It was heartbreaking, but knowing that life continues and that because I have been sealed to him, made it easier. It brings comfort to know that on the good days as well as the bad, my loving Father in Heaven is always looking out for me and wanting to bless me. This church is true! I know it with all my heart! President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet called by God to lead us. If we listen to his counsel, we can be guided safely home to our Father's presence. The Book of Mormon is the word of the Lord and was written for us. If we read from its pages and pray to know its truthfulness, we can know through the Holy Ghost. I have read it several times and each time, my testimony grows. Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and did restore the Church on the earth. It is the same as was in the Savior's day. Our Heavenly Father loves us. He knows each of us personally. He knows my struggles and wants. He desires for us to be happy. He sent His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, down to set an example for us and ultimately give His life for us. He lives! Because He lives, we can have the opportunity to return to Father in Heaven. This I know with all my heart, which is why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

This church means so much to me. I try to serve in all the capacities I can because I know it is true. I have previously served in callings where I was able to meet with other youth in my neighborhood and help them with whatever they need. I have planned dances, activities, meetings, and camps. I was even once a Young Women Music Coordinator. Since before I can remember, I have wanted to serve the Lord full-time, so in April I submitted my papers to serve an eighteen month proselyting mission. I have been called to the England London Mission. I am thrilled! Knowing that I can share the Gospel with people who might never get the chance to hear it brings me so much joy!
