Hi I'm Mark

I'm a keen sportsperson, a missionary in training and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sport has been a large part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been a swimmer for most of my life and enjoy the training and the results that come from that. As a result of that, I chose to gain my lifeguarding certificate so that I could help out my swim team and help them to provide sessions for others to enjoy. From this, I then ventured into triathlons and have completed one recently. I love sports that allow me to interact with the environment and be out there enjoying what God has created for us to enjoy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life, but that doesn't come without its struggles. There have been times where its been difficult, but that has only helped to strengthen my testimony of the restored gospel. I know that this church is true, and that is even more so confirmed to me as I prepare to serve as a full time missionary for the church. I know that God lives and that he really does hear and answer my prayers. This has never been more so clear to me than this time. He has helped me through my exams and has given me the help and comfort that I needed to get through to the end of them without any problems. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it from cover to cover and have prayed about it to know if it is true, and its been confirmed that it is true. The blessings we receive as we follow the teachings and commandments of The Lord are amazing and there is nothing that would ever take me away from following them for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

I attend the YSA ward here in Manchester and am currently serving as the Priesthood Group, also known as the Elders Quorum, as secretary within that organisation. I help to plan events, collect information from members of the group or quorum and make sure that all of the members are happy with what's going on. I have also served as a ward missionary to help out the full time missionaries teach and share the gospel with others. This, as a result, has helped me to prepare to serve my own full time mission in November 2014.
