Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in South Los Angeles. I am an Eagle Scout, business owner, baseball lover, a Policy Debater and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a city and went to many different schools. Education was hard for me. I have Irlen Syndrome. This prognosis makes reading hard for me. I over came this struggle with a prayer in my heart, and the diligence of loving parents. I love to read philosophy books. Machiavelli The Prince is my favorite book. I learned to read better because I became a policy debater. This form of debate takes lots of reading and skill. It is fun, but very, very difficult. I love baseball. I played baseball my whole life. I like playing Third Base. I love baseball with a passion beyond comprehension. For a long time, I lived, breathed and eat baseball. Today is still like to catch a game every now and then.

Why I am a Mormon

Living my faith is very hard. I went to school in a predominately Mormon environment, but never was near any Mormons because of the classes I took. Everyday was a battle. Prayer is a big part of my life. I would flounder in today's society, if I could not review guidance from on high. I turn to scripture to receive strength to combat the challenges of the day and to receive knowledge. I live in the misted to a chaotic world. It is pleasing to me to know of the mercies a God in heaven can give to me if I just search for him. For I am convince that even in the darkest or the brightest times in our lives, there is a God in heaven that loves us, even in our time of error.

How I live my faith

I attend church almost every week. I teach often to the youth. I enjoy this a ton. I am preparing to go on a mission. This opportunity to teach has blessed me. I love teach about the things that I love and the things that have helped me to people that will experience similar hardships. I hope that I can, at least, touch one person that I teach.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jordan
To be a true Mormon is to be a disciple or follower of Jesus Christ. As is says in Timothy, we, as Mormons, strive to be "an example of the believers". It is hard, but obedience to the laws of Heaven bring blessings. When we are obedient, we become happy. It is a process, but the result of obedience does bring blessings which in turn make us happy.
