Hi I'm Kesia

I am preparing to serve a mission in the El Salvador Santa Ana mission after a year of college and I am a proud Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college and am now preparing to serve an LDS mission in El Salvador. One of my favorite things to do is get to know new people and hear their stories. I have lots of experiences in life and love to relate and talk about my life experiences. I have 2 beautiful little sisters, 2 amazing older brothers, a niece and a mother, father and a cute fish named Clark. My mom is a convert to the church and my dad was reactivated in the church about 10 years ago. I grew up in the gospel and love every bit of it! I enjoy playing the piano, singing and having random dance parties even if I am by my self. I also really like ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church but with having an inactive father and a non-member mother, I didn't quite have a full understanding. I was confused as a little girl because sometimes, I would be learning one thing in sunday school or Primary and seeing something completely opposite at home. I attended church every Sunday without my parents and with my big brothers. I remember praying as a child for something better to happen with my family. That things would get better. We were struggling with many things and I just wanted to see my family happy again. At the age of 7, my mom was taking lessons from sister missionaries and was baptized. At the age of 8, I became baptized and at the age of 9, my dad had cleaned up his life and came back to the church he was raised in. I have watched progression in my family and in myself. I have been down roads and paths that I never want to go down again. I am happier in this gospel. I have read the Book of Mormon to be true. I have prayed sincerely about the truthfulness of this gospel and the spirit that I felt when I received my answer was undeniably the spirit of Christ. I know that Jesus, my Lord and Savior, lives within me and within you. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that through Joseph Smith, God was able to restore the Gospel back on this earth. I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and eternal families. I love this gospel because it helps me become more Christ-like and I want nothing more than to be like him and to be with him someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and attending institute classes. Institute has brought me to a more broad understanding of this gospel. It has taught me about the principles of this gospel, the leaders and everything I need to to get back to my Heavenly Father. I try my best to attend the temple as much as I can. Right now, I can only do baptisms for the dead but that truly makes all the difference. Preparing for a mission is a way I have been trying to live my faith. By making a real effort to read my scriptures every day, praying all the time, serving as much as I can and living the commandments that I covenanted with my Heavenly Father.
