Hi I'm Tanner Oldroyd

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am called to serve as a missionary in the Dominican Republic, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a mixed family. I have two loving parents, an older biological sister, and four younger siblings who are all adopted, african american, and from different families. I love sports especially football and basketball. I love to travel and enjoy being outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I chose to be. I grew up with amazing parents who raised me well and taught me the gospel and how I should be. I believed the church was true for 16 years, but it wasn't until I was 17 that I truly was converted to the gospel. I decided to just do it: read the entire book of mormon. I told my self that I would read every day and would ask my heavenly father for a confirmation that it was true. And just as in the scriptures (Alma 32 and Moroni 10:4-5) I gained a very personal testimony that it was true. I felt a very specific feeling, that was very personalized and could only come from my heavenly father. He answered my prayer loudly and clearly that this was his gospel and what I have been hearing my whole life was true. And it was through the power of the Holy Ghost that I felt and understood what The Lord was trying to tell me. I am a Mormon because I love the happiness it brings me. The Lord has confirmed unto me that this is His church and that it is true. This gospel does so many amazing things world wide. But the most amazing thing it does is allow me to be with the people I love forever. It brings me so much joy and I am very happy The Lord has put the gospel in my life. I am very happy The Lord has blessed me by letting me be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I act. I go to church every sunday, and live worthily during the week so I can bless and partake of the sacrament each week. I attend the temple once a week, and always wake up earlier then I need so I can read my scriptures. I home teach 2 wonderful families and enjoy loving and serving them. I live my faith studying the words of the prophets from general conference and trying to live by what they have asked me to do.
