Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in Michigan. I searched for God in many churches. Now I am Mormon. I strive for the Holy Spirit to stay with me daily.

About Me

I strive daily to be a better father for my 4 sons. I surround myself with people I feel are great influences to my character and follow the path, and will hold me accountable when I am fall from the path. I am constantly learning to help others through positive outreach. My hobbies include woodworking and crafts which I would like to share with my boys.

Why I am a Mormon

On March 21st 2014, while coming out of court and being utterly defeated emotionally, spiritually, and physically, a young man handed me a pamphlet and said something to the effect "God loves you". I spouted "He hates me and I hate Him right back!". I felt a ping in my soul at that moment. The next day while in the library a nice gentleman offered to help me by driving me a long distance from where we were at for a scooter. I asked him "Do you know of a good church around here?" He said no, he was from Canada. A young woman leaned over and asked "What kind of church?" I said a Christian Church. She mentioned a local LDS church. I knew of the place. Many bad things happened between that day and Sunday morning, I challenged God continually. "If my vehicle brakes down, it isn't meant to be!", "If the door is locked I am leaving!", "If the service is over, I am leaving!", "If the sermon doesn't touch me, I'm leaving!", my vehicle made it, the door was open, the people were caring, the sermon hit me HARD!, and when i looked to my left, and to my right.. there were Loving families, husbands and wives, children helping their siblings. There was something I have never seen before in my years of searching and bible study. LOVE in action. I started to pray and read the Book of Mormon. I felt peace within. I found that the church I attended that day wasn't my Ward, I looked forward all week to attending this church again. But the following week I found that the people I was staying with were also Mormon. I attended their church, and my life has totally changed. I was baptized on May 3rd. I now know more about service and love and faith and strive only for the good wholesome things in life. Things that fill me and satisfy me, not that leave me empty and hungry for more like sin does. My name is Steven and I am a Mormon and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and his commandments.

How I live my faith

Service. I befriend and help others when I see a need. I hold myself accountable to keep my honor by fulfilling promises and repaying debts. I tune out all unnecessary things that don't help others or myself achieve greater awareness or service to others. I tell others of my experiences that lead me to where I am today. It has only been a short time since I have been a Mormon, but I am a different man. No longer do I hunger for sin, but strive for light. My burdens, fears and anxieties are lifted off my shoulders. I look on people and myself in a whole new way. I lead by example and love the friendships and true relationships I have now. Unlike before, I now know for certain "God doesn't want weekend visitations, He wants full custody".
