Hi I'm Andre Dax

I grew up in Pateros, Philippines and I am a proud LDS. I have seven wonderful siblings.

About Me

I am from Pateros 2nd Ward. I belong to a Latter-day saint family. My mom and dad was a convert of the church and so we- their children were born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We were sealed in the Manila Philippines temple on January 2002. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines Cebu Mission. I love adventures, going to places I don't know especially on historical places. I am taking Business Administration major in Human Resources in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I like cycling and swimming but using social medias are my expertise. I am looking forward to meet new members of the church and other people in different religion from different countries and I'm hoping we can be friends. I like singing that is why I am part of our Stake Choir. We are great singers and we have been invited to different church events to sing.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I felt it in my heart that this is the only true church that is standing here on the face of the earth. And the church helped me to be a good and worthy son of God. I learn many things that I cannot get by any other means. I have come to know my true identity here in the Church-as a Son of God. I love the church and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church here on earth. I testify that being a Latter-day saint is great and awesome. I knew it, I live it and I love it!

How I live my faith

I am called to serve as a full-time missionary in the Philippines Cebu Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live my faith by participating in church activities, sharing what we believe in the social medias and to my friends. I also work with our full-time missionaries and it's a great way to prepare for my mission. I am an Elder and I learned many things through church activities. I read the Book of Mormon and the other Church magazines that will broaden my knowledge about the restored gospel. I am doing family history and it's awesome! I met my ancestors and it makes me happy because I can help them for their exaltation. I magnify my callings and serve the people around me of the best I can. Keeping the Lord's commandments are the best! It will help you stay strong and become like Him every time you follow His commandments. Teaching and serving the youth is an opportunity. As I lose my life in the service of the people, I tend to find it again and to live purposefully. To prepare myself and my family to meet the Savior and our Father in heaven.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Andre Dax
I know for myself that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the very essence of the Plan of Salvation. Our Heavenly Father has sacrificed His Only Begotten Son so we too can be like Him. I know that missionary work helps people apply the Atonement in their lives. I know that if we follow our Savior Jesus Christ, we will be blessed and be covered by the Atonement of Him. We cannot return to the presence of our Heavenly Father without the knowledge and application of the blood of the Lamb. He is the Redeemer of the world and that because of Him, men will be blessed to dwell in the presence of the Almighty God. As we keep our covenants and honor them, we can receive mercy and merits that come through the Savior. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Andre Dax
In the prophecy of the Old Testament prophets, they saw the "restitution" of all things in the Latter-days and what they call, the "dispensation of the fullness of times", "the last days" and "the latter-days". I believe that the practice of Polygamy was then restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. We read that the Lord has commanded many prophets in the Old Testament like Abraham, Isaac, Moses, David and Solomon to practice such. In the Book of Mormon, the Lord himself declared “for there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife: and concubines he shall have none... for if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things (Jacob 2:27-30). The Lord has commanded the Prophet to practice this commandment. In the year 1890, President Wilford Woodruff received a revelation that will stop the practice of polygamy. Any member of the church nowadays who practice polygamy is excommunicated for the Lord has commanded it to stop. Show more Show less
