Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a born and bred California girl. I love the mountains, the ocean, and anytime I can spend outside; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. Anytime I can I like to go camping, hiking, and backpacking. Basically anything that will take me outdoors to anything from the mountains to the beach. When I'm not out trying to explore the California state I am a dedicated student. I love learning and everything that comes with it, I recently just finished my second year at a junior college close to home. I work as a dental assistant and plan on transferring to a university to study dental hygiene.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a member of this church because it makes me happy. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows and loves me and I know that Jesus Christ paid the price for my sins so that one day I will be clean and able to enter my Heavenly Father's Kingdom. All of this brings me happiness. It gives me the perspective to get through hard times, and it has given me the knowledge to know that I can choose to never go through my trials alone. I love this gospel, I love my Savior, and I love my Father in Heaven. Choosing to live my life in harmony with the teachings of the church has brought me more happiness than anything else.

How I live my faith

I love this church! I choose to live it every single day. I believe that a true follower of Christ is a follower in both word and deed, and that is what I strive to do throughout my life. I attend church every Sunday and teach a class of little ones. I also attend and participate in a scripture study class for college students. I love being social and going to different activities that the church puts on. I am also currently preparing to serve a mission for 18 months where I will help people learn more about Jesus Christ and invite them to come unto Him.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Alyssa
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, and our Savior. Jesus Christ came to earth for the purpose of saving us from both our sins and our death. Through the Atonement, Christ suffered for all our sins, transgressions, sorrow, afflictions, and hardships. He suffered everything so that when we went through a similar challenge He would understand exactly what we were going through and be able to comfort us and help up through it. Three days after Christ died on the cross He resurrected from the grave. His spirit and body were reunited together. Because of this we will also be given the gift of Resurrection and be able to live again after we die. Show more Show less
