Hi I'm Cole

I grew up in Oregon. I love to play the piano and also play tennis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school with good grades and am serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in El Salvador. When I get back I plan to study either Math or Engineering in College. I love to play tennis and played all through high school. I was also on our school's robotics team and that was part of what spurred my interest in Engineering. I like working with my hands and solving problems. I like music of all types and enjoy playing the piano. I'm an Eagle Scout. I love my family and am a brand new Uncle.

Why I am a Mormon

My immediate family were already members of the church when I was born so I have been around the church from a very young age. When I was little I knew the good feeling that I had at church and I wanted to be baptized and continue being a part of the church. Why am I a Mormon now? Because I know how happy the church helps me to be and how much it has blessed my life. Whenever I have had challenges in my life I've always been able to pray and receive help from God, I know that he is there and he loves each and everyone of us. I know that God gives us many tools to overcome any challenges that come our way. I know that Jesus showed his love for us by enduring many hard things and being crucified that he could rise from the dead and prepare the way that everyone may live again. I know that he lives again and loves us. God, our Heavenly Father, wants us to ask questions and to find out answers for ourselves. Years ago, when I was in middle school, I prayed asking Heavenly Father if the church and what I had been taught was true, and I am a member today not just because of the joy that I get from attending church but because I received an answer back in middle school. When I prayed and asked God I received a warm peaceful feeling in my heart that the church was true and that it was what God wanted me to do. I am naturally a very questioning and skeptical person and It means so much to me that God cares enough about me to let me know what is true. I can't imagine how I would endure life without the church and my relationship with God, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to serve people both in church and in my community. I was a youth group leader in church and would help plan the activities we have for teenage age kids. I also play the piano accompaniment in some church meetings. I've been involved in several service clubs in my community. One of my favorite service projects I was involved in was painting a school. It was cool to see how much could be accomplished in a day when lots of people pitched in and helped.
