Hi I'm Jace

I was born and raised in Sandy, Utah near Salt Lake City. I'm a gamer, a runner, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've recently graduated high school and I am currently making the transition of moving out of my House to go to a University for college. I am a Cross Country and Track runner and I ran for my high school teams and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am also a musician and I play the drums, other percussion, and a little piano. I also like computers and I am planning on going into a degree in either computer science or 3D Animation.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but the decision to stay in it has been completely my decision. I put all my effort into the church because I know that it is what the lord would want me to do. I know that the standards that we are given as members of the church are meant to keep us safe. I have seen in the lives of those I know that don't have the gospel in their life that the gospel is healthy for you and will help you become a better person and a stronger individual. I know that this church is true and that it blesses you in ways you don't even realize.

How I live my faith

As a young man I served as the first assistant to my Bishop in leading my group of young men. I also At home I have served as a first counselor or assistant in leading a group of men in a student ward at college. I am currently serving a mission for the church which takes me away from my family for two years to share the gospel that I know is true with those who have yet to hear it. I'm kind of nervous about some of the struggles I will face, but I know that the Lord will help me and guide my tongue to help others learn the gospel. I go home teaching with a brother in my neighborhood that used to be the teacher of my sunday school class. We don't go as often as we should but we go often. As a home teacher it is our responsibility to make sure others in the neighborhood are doing well financially, emotionally, and know that we are here to support and help them in any way that we can. This can include yard work, shoveling their walks whenever we can, or just generally helping them when they are in need. As a missionary it is a lot different, we spend everyday trying to talk to people, trying to share what we have known to be true all the while looking for opportunities to help people doing whatever we can. Physical work, and labor and also just trying to help people understand who God is. It says in the book of mormon "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of God" I know that God will help us as long as we are trying to help others.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jace
Being a mormon is a lot like being any other person just with different standards and longer meetings on Sundays. I go to school like anyone else, I hang out with my friends often, I play video games and watch more TV than I should, but I know where I came from and where I will be going after my death and that everything I do has a purpose.
