Hi I'm Justin Alen Lozada

Hi! My name is Justin Lozada, and I grew up in Fayetteville, NC by way of Toledo, OH. I am currently serving with the Air Force.

About Me

Sometimes in life you find your self floating and you feel like you don't have a life line to link up to. The story of my conversion started well over 10 years ago when a childhood friend of mine (still friends and fellow airman in the US Air Force) gave me a peculiar but very common book called "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ". I never read the book while I had it, but I kept it, and everywhere I moved, it moved with me. From North Carolina to South Dakota to Colorado, the book was a fixture on my shelf but I never thumbed through it until...the day two missionaries showed up on my doorstep on a cold November night. After inviting them in, and even saying "no, I'm not interested", something inside of me just wanted to know more. One night I caught myself texting them and asking them about what turned out to be "the Word of Wisdom" and...the rest they say is history, and my life has not been the same since. True conversion comes from within, and your testimony of our Savior will only continue to grow. This is the abridged version of my conversion, to get the full story, hit me up and I will be more than happy to share.

Why I am a Mormon

So why did I choose to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? It's quite simple actually...it's true. I'm not saying other churches do not have validity or truth to them. I have been to many churches of different denominations and they are great. I just identify more with this church. I have watched myself grow in so many areas of my life, and I owe it all to the many wonderful people I have met in this church. I have experienced the warm, inviting spirit of many individuals who have helped me during times of need. We all are flesh and bone that houses the spirit of a "child of God". We have a wonderful Heavenly Father who loves us all dearly and has an awesome plan to bring us back into his warm presence. I'm a productive member of society, an ex-SSgt in the US Air Force, a son, a brother, a friend, a film-buff, and I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an active member of the city I am stationed. Being an ambassador is something I have been doing all of my life. I served time as a police officer in the city of Fayetteville, NC and at age 25 I joined the Air Force. Being a civil servant is in my blood and a tradition I have continued (my grandfather on my mom's side served during World War II, my dad's dad was a policeman, and my father served in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division). Along with being an ambassador for the military, I am also an ambassador for my faith, and I love it. My first calling in the church was a secretary with the Young Men's group. Those young boys have taught me so much, and they are growing into fine, young adults. I am currently serving Primary, Valiant 9...9 year-olds are full of energy, to say the least, but I love teaching the young ones about the restored gospel and enjoy watching them grow.
