Hi I'm Geri

My most important roles are wife, mother, and grandmother. I play the violin, learn, read, walk, and scuba dive. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Mormon home. I went to church regularly and gained my own testimony of Jesus Christ and his church. I have always known in my heart that life goes on after this life, and that I could be with my family even after death. Family relationships has always been most important to me. They bring the most love and satisfaction to my life. My career is a homemaker. I have played the violin on many occasions in church and community events. I love music. The wonderful emotions that it creates are wonderful and I feel that it strengthens my testimony and love for others. In our 5th decade, my husband and I learned to scuba dive. This was very scary to me. I had to overcome a lot of fear. I loved swimming with the beautiful fish, and yes, even the sharks, eels, and perranas. When I overcame these fears, I felt like I could do anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrine makes sense to my mind and soul. The Book of Mormon answers lots of questions that the Bible is vague and even confusing on. I love knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I love knowing that Jesus is always there for me. I learned as a young child that I could always rely on them. They have never let me down. I want my children to know where they can turn to for constant help and understanding. Life is wonderful because I know that I and all of us have a wonderful destiny ahead of us.

How I live my faith

I love giving service in our community and church. I have volunteered in school classrooms and in community events. I also love to volunteer in the homeless shelter and other charity organizations. I have been a leader among the women and girls in our church. I have been a teacher to children and adults. I love teaching because that is when I learn the most. I love reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible and other church scriptures. They teach me how to live and how to treat others. I also enjoy praying to God, and I try to take the time to listen for answers. This is an ongoing learning experience for me.
