Hi I'm Megan Lela Thatcher

Who am I? I m a good laugh, a bright smile, a life learner, a loyal friend, a diligent daughter, a true believer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I await my mission in Bulgaria Sofia.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon? Well I've been blessed to have grown up in the church and have always believed it was true, however is wasn't till I was 16 that I really believed and witnessed the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I had a very traumatic experience happen to me when I was younger. I was taken advantage of and it hurt me for several years. I felt like I was a horrible person, scared and crying almost every night. I knew I needed to tell someone about it but I was scared and I promised my self I would when I turned 16. I know Christ was with me through all the pain and sorrow. when I turned 16 I was going through a very difficult time and I think the spirit impressed upon my mom to ask me about it. I finally told her and I felt a burden being lifted. It was still painful getting over it for a while but I know longer thought about it constantly and even now it doesn't hurt me to think about it. I truly feel at peace and its all because of the love of the savor. I completely forgive the person that wronged me and I know that person is a child of god. I never thought the atonement could help me overcome this, and it continues to help me with everything I go through. I am lucky to have had this burden or suffering, its has drawn me closer to God and has help me gain a testimony of this gospel. Many people have and are still suffering much worst then I. Because of Christ our suffering is not for nothing, and our burdens can be lifted. We can overcome the world just as Christ did. This gospel has truth and a power greater than anything else. I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Something I have recently been challenging myself if to try to be like the savor. I try to think to myself, how who Christ respond to this situation, or what would he say and do? It definitely requires patients and a better understanding of Christ, which is what I am seeking to have and understand. I know that the savor love us completely and wholeheartedly and I what others to be able to feel and see that love through me. I feel like I can better accomplish this with the knowledge and spiritual growth I gain when I pray, read the scriptures, go to church, listen or read talks from church leaders, read good uplifting books, playing hymns on the piano, listen to good inspiring music, go to the temple and institute, and picture myself walking and talking with the savior.
