Hi I'm Spencer

I love to snowboard, wakeboard, and go camping. I know the church is true and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have lived in Utah all of my life. I have been a member of the LDS church all of my life. I like to snowboard in the winter and wakeboard in the summer. I also enjoy camping and just about anything else in the outdoors. Video games are another thing that I do for fun. I have worked as an apprentice plumber for about 3 years. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 16. I am interested in becoming an engineer, specifically a mechanical or aerospace engineer. I have been accepted into college and am excited to attend after my mission. The gospel is the most important part of my life and I cannot imagine where I would be without it. My faith in the gospel has increased greatly since beginning my mission. It is wonderful to get to tell others every day about the things I know to be true. I am grateful for all the opportunities my Heavenly Father has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it is the right thing to do. I believe that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the Earth. I have received personal confirmation of this through faith and praying to my Heavenly Father. I know the Book of Mormon is true scripture. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church through the help of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I have been a member of the LDS church since I was baptized and attended church even before that. The gospel has always been an important part of my life. By knowing there is life after death I am comforted when a loved one dies and am less afraid of my own death. Without the church in my life I don't think I would have much direction and I would be confused by the many options available. I am a Mormon because I believe the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday. Until recently I went to youth activities on Wednesdays including things like career nights where we learned about the careers of people in the ward, scavenger hunts where you earn points by doing acts of service for ward members, and mission preparation where we learn the skills we need to serve a mission. I also served in the leadership of our youth. I went home teaching with my father. We visited families in the ward to see how things were going with them and to help them in whatever way they may have needed. I am currently serving a mission in Canada to help others find the happiness I found from the church.
