Hi I'm McKenna

I grew up in Utah. I'm planning on earning my Master's Degree and starting a career related to Astronomy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Harry Potter and Psych and pretty much all detective stories. I also love to go hiking, especially since there are so many great trails in Utah! I've finished one year of college and I'm planning on going to a lot more.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and it might seem like that is why I still continue in His gospel. That's not the case with me, however. During high school, especially, I decided I needed to know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I started reading the Book of Mormon again, more slowly and carefully, and praying about everything I'd read and learned each day. Slowly, I began to see how much doing the things I'd always been taught really blessed my life and made everything clearer. All my doubts were taken care of and my testimony grew immensely. It seemed like when I was following the Lord's commandments and studying the scriptures and praying every day my life made more sense and I could really feel God's love for me personally. I know for myself that the church is true and that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for us so that if we would have faith in Him and repent and be baptized and endure to the end we could return home to Him again. I know that Joseph Smith Jr. was truly called of God to restore Christ's church again on the Earth and to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that it is true as well and I am so grateful for the clarity and second witness it provides, along with the Bible. I am also grateful that we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, on the earth today to provide us direction and revelation from God. I know that God loves each of us personally and has a plan for each of us and wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

Right now I am preparing to serve a full time mission in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I'll be working at the Visitors Center in Kirtland, and I couldn't be more excited! I'll be sharing the gospel with the people in that area as well.
