Hi I'm Travis Richards

I live in North Las Vegas, I am a High School Graduate,I am a Future LDS Missionary, I am a Mormon.

I am going on my LDS mission to Santiago, Chile on August 13. I am 18 Years Old. I am a High School Graduate. I am Going to Brigham Young University Idaho after my mission. I play the piano. I am a cross country runner. I enjoy sports and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church my whole life, my whole family is active in the church. My father served his mission in Japan, which has helped my decision to serve a mission. Both of my parents came from an active famiy. I enjoy going to the Mormon Church every week.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in the Youth Program for the last 6 years, learning about the gospel. I have had leadership responsibilities and have led over a group. I am an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout program, which has helped me grow in the church. I help with special ordinances in the LDS Church. I serve others by participating in these ordinances. I know that the Mormon church is True.

What is being a Mormon like?

Travis Richards
Being a Mormon has been a great blessing in my life. As I have continued to be a member of the church, I have often thought of this question. The church teaches that being a Mormon brings happiness and peacefullness as long as we follow the Lord's commandments. If we do what Christ has taught us, and what the Prophet has taught us then we can receive blessings. Many people belive that all of the rules our church has, takes away our agency. This is not true. The rules are there to protect us from the evils of the world. If we follow the rules that are given to us then we can recieve great blessings. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Travis Richards
Yes, Mormons are Christians. This is a big misconception. We believe in God the Eternal Father, his Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. We believe Jesus Christ is the center of our religion. We believe that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so we can return back to our Heavenly Father. Since we have such a strong belief in Christ, that makes us Christians. Show more Show less
