Hi I'm Joey

I come from a blended family. I know that love is thicker then blood and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into a very poor family. My dad left our home when I was one to find better work. He and My mother got divorced soon after. My mother was a drug addict and abusive to my older brother and I. she remarried to a man that was even more abusive and evil. We lived in their house (run down trailer) for three years. My dad did his best to send child support but my mother would use the money for her own purposes, not to take care of her children. Eventually my dad was able to gain custody of my older brother and I. We went to live with him and his new wife and her three children. Even though they were not my blood they were and are my brother and sisters. Through all of the abuse and trials that have arisen in my life I gained a testimony of my savior and all that he has done for me. I have learned to truly forgive those who hurt me and I have learned to love my neighbor. I became a member of the church when I went to live with my dad. What made it special is he made it my choice to join. he became a member shortly after leaving my mother. from there he got to a point in his life where he could provide for me and my brother. He never once forced me to go to church. he made it all my decision and that has made all the difference. Never let some one force you to join anything. If you are to truly be converted it must be your choice.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I have seen the miracles that come from it's truth. It has saved my life, it has saved my brother's life, and I know it can save yours. Our father in heaven loves us dearly and wants us all to return to him. I invite you to pray and ask God if this is true. in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

Since joining the church I have learned a great deal. I learned to love those around me, I learned to my father in heaven, I learned to forgive those around me that might hurt me, and most importantly I have learned to rely on the savior. As a child I suffered many abuses and hardships. many people hurt me or allowed people to hurt me. For the longest time I hated them, I hated them for hurting me and for hurting my brother. I hated them so much I wished for someone to end their lives. However I soon learned that this was contrary to the commandments of God. We are to forgive everyone. It has been hard for me to do and took me the better part of my childhood to come to this conclusion, but I have faith that Jesus died for everyone and not just me. I know that those who hurt me and my brother can still repent and that when they do they will feel the love that God has for them. I have forgiven them.
