Hi I'm Savannah Barrick

I grew up in Southern Utah. I am a missionary serving in Texas. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been attending college for the past year and a half studying nursing. I love helping others and the joy I feel meeting new people. I work doing hospice care and being a CNA. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. when I'm not working I love movies, bookies, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born LDS. For a long time I went to church because that's what my parents did, and what I thought I should do too. Then I entered high school and for the first time ever read the Book Of Mormon all the way through. I had many times started, but would fizzle out before finishing. When I had finally finished the Book Of Mormon I could not get Moroni's promise out of my head. His promise found in Moroni chapter 9 verses 4-5 was this "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I wanted to know for myself if I believed in the same things my parents did, If what I had just read really happened, if there was a savoir who loved me, and if the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. I prayed and I received my answer. I know without a doubt that God lives and loved us so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for all our sins. That because of this atonement we can all be perfected and live again, and when we make mistakes we can be forgiven. That this gospel is true and that we do have living prophets who speak for the Lord. I know that the plan of salvation is real, and we can be eternal families forever. The Book Of Mormon is true and is another testament of our lord and savior Jesus Christ and writings of prophets. I am grateful that I have this truth in my life. I no longer go to church because that's what my parents did, no I go to church because I know that the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is the church of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures, praying morning and night, attending church, and trying to be as loving as possible. One of the things Christ taught while on the earth is to love your neighbor. By not judging others and trying to see them in the same light as our savior sees someone is something I strive to do continually.
