Hi I'm Haydn

I'm a reader, a thinker, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hiking, boating, camping, and skiing with my family - besides my parents, I have three younger siblings; one sister and two brothers. I'm driven by a determination to understand how the world works, and I usually have a book in hand. I enjoy studying and discussing economic and political theory, and love hearing the real-life stories of adventure, ingenuity, and heroism that history is filled with.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ fills my heart with hope and my life with light. It shows me that I have limitless potential as a son of a loving Heavenly Father. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God - and by extension that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true - I know that if I live righteously and endure to the end, I can live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I believe that through the choices I make every day, I decide what kind of person I want to become. Though I make countless mistakes, I am always striving to become better. I try to treat everyone I meet with love and respect, and to live in my life in a way that will show Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ how much I love them.

What is the Book of Mormon?

At some point, each of us ask ourselves questions like "where did I come from?" "why am I here?" and "where will I go when I die?" I've asked myself these "universal questions" many times - I know how bewildering and disconcerting they can be. Thankfully, Heavenly Father has provided answers to these questions - He has given us the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a book of sacred scripture that was translated by Joseph Smith through the gift and power of God. It contains the writings of ancient prophets about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible; rather, it stands as a additional witness of the divine mission of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through prayerful study of the Book of Mormon, I have realized that my life has purpose and meaning, that Heavenly Father lives and loves me, and that Jesus IS indeed the Christ. The Book of Mormon concludes with this sacred promise: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." The Book of Mormon will change your life. Study it, ponder its message, and ask Heavenly Father to confirm its truthfulness. I testify that it is the word of God. Show more Show less
