Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Utah. I love reading, Mexican food, and serving others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the daughter of a Californian father and Nicaraguan mother who joined the church when she was 18. I love reading, music, baseball, movies, the outdoors, laughing, horses, cake, Mexican food, traveling, and being with my friends and family. I'm the third child in my family of 1 boy and 3 girls. I'm a college student majoring in Elementary Education leaving in July to serve a mission in San Antonio, Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but I have found out the truthfulness of its teachings for myself. I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy and it makes me a better person.I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Chirst and the Book of Mormon. The happiness and comfort I feel when living the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ can't be found anywhere else for me. I'm a Mormon because it continually reminds me that as a daughter of God, I have a place in this world and I am capable of doing incredible things that can make me and those around me feel happy and loved.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me, whether at church or in the community. I'm living my faith by leaving in a month to serve a full time mission in San Antonio, Texas. When I received my callings to teach other women at church, and visit others oustide of church, I've done my best to do things that will help and inspire them. I live my faith by following in the footsteps of my Savior Jesus Christ and trying hard to do the things He would have done.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is really fantastic and brings happiness. Mormons believe that by following the teachings of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, we can live eternally with them and with our families. Mormons focus a lot on family because of the blessing it is and the joy it brings. Some people say that being a Mormon may be difficult because there are so many rules to follow. There are no rules, there are commandments given by God and there is modern day revelation that each member decides to follow or not follow themselves. We are a church that encourages agency and making your own decisions. It's up to you if you want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have found the most happiness in my life when I do follow the commandments and teachings of Christ and prophets. As a Mormon, I focus a lot on bettering myself, serving others, and sharing this true gospel with others. Being a Mormon is comforting, happy, and filled with joy. Show more Show less
