Hi I'm Terry Turney

I grew up in the farm country of central California. I work in education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent over 30 years in the military, 3 years in the active army and the rest in the Army National Guard. I've deployed with the Guard to riots, wildfires and floods as post 9-11 homeland security mission and to Iraq. I am married with 6 children all out of high school and 4 grandchildren yet to be in school. I enjoy snow skiing with my family and rappelling.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 16 mostly because the things the missionaries shared made logical sense to me. As I strive to live the gospel principles that the church teaches I have come to know the truth of Christ's challenge to the Jews in John 7:16-17 "Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of god or whether I speak of myself." I have found that I am happier and I feel closer to God as I do the things I have come to know to be from Him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a counselor to our local leader and enjoy the various opportunities I get to serve. The past few ears I have been able to attend our church sponsored girls camp where I teach the girls how to rappel and assist around the camp in what ever needs to be done. Last year I got my wife to come along as the camp nurse and we are both looking forward to going again this year.
