Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in North Carolina, and love playing sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to work and teach children. Seeing them progress is so wonderful. I also enjoy exercising, and playing sports. One of my favorite things to do is to work on fixing or building things with my dad. From wood working, plumbing, to soldering pipes. We spend time together digging ditches, working, and figuring problems out around the home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Church. I have struggled with the hardships of life, and have hit many low points. Many times I have asked myself why I am a member of this Church. I look back on what I've experienced. What has helped me through everything, and pulled me out of despair, has come through my faith and testimony in Christ. I receive hope, guidance, help, and strength through this Church. I have seen God's hand in my life, and have felt His peace. I am a Mormon because I have prayed to know if this Church was true. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, and have practiced its teachings in my life. It is because I have taken action, and applied what is taught to everyday of my life, that I have come to know that it is true. I see the difference it makes in my life when I live Christ's commandments and teachings. I know with out a doubt that God hears my prays and has answered them. He is there, and He is helping me. I trust Him, and have a testimony that this is His Church. This is how I can make it back to Him and be happy. The more I study the gospel, the more my testimony grows. It is because of my faith that I am so happy, and am able to make it through each day. The priesthood, like in the days of Moses, has been restored through Joseph Smith, a prophet. I am able to receive blessings of comfort and guidance through this priesthood. I know that when I receive a blessing through the priesthood, it is God speaking to me. It is because He answers the questions and concerns on my mind, and knows what is in my heart. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live, and have restored Their Church here on the earth again. They love us, and want us to return home to Them. To be able to do that, I know it is important that we are baptized into His Church, and follow His gospel. I know this Church to be true. I have acted and seen for my self throughout my life.

How I live my faith

The way I live all comes down to what I believe. It drives my actions. I am an example of Christ, and try to be like Him. So I forgive those I work with who wrong me, and I smile at everyone I can. When I see others in need, I try and help them as much as I can. I do my best to give what I have to others, whether it be time, work, or service. Everyone wants to have a friend and be understood, to have some to talk to that will listen. My goal is to be there for others. Help them be able to make it through what they are struggling with.
