Hi I'm Joshua

I was raised in the small city of Shelley Idaho, USA. Now I live in Kaysville Utah, I'm 14 years old, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to be with my friends and wonderful family. I like to swim, I like to play card games, I like to roller blade/in line skate, and I also like to do ice skating. I also like to play sports such as basketball, tennis, volleyball, and American football. I love family reunions and playing with my cousins and siblings. I like to play with my friends. I love camping. I love being a boy scout of America. I want to go on a mission. I want to go to collage and get a good education to provide for my future family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Mormon family. I have been taught by my parents and family. I also learned at church from my Sunday school teachers about the gospel and how Joseph Smith brought the gospel back on the Earth. Soon I gained a testimony that it was true and I decided to get baptized into the church and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I would like to bear my testimony that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to the earth, I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that we may live again with our family forever in heaven. I know when I pray Heavenly father hears it and answers it. I know that families are forever. I know I can repent and be forgiven for my sins by the atonement of Jesus Christ which he gave to us when he paid for all of our sins, I would like to say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I pray every morning and night. I read the scriptures every day and also do the same things with my family. Every Wednesday I go to mutual which is when I get together with others my age and we do an activity like swimming. We also do important lessons on mutual like learn how to keep sin out of my life. As a scout I like to do service which is also one of my church callings. Every Sunday I got to church one hour early because it is one of my duties in the church to help prepare for the other members of our ward to come to church. I have a church calling where every month I go do home teaching. Home teaching is when I go with my dad (since I am a young home teacher) and we go to a family in the ward and talk to them and ask if they are alright and if they need help. If they do need help I will report to the bishop and the bishop will provide the help that my home teaching family needs. Then my dad and I will give them a spiritual thought. Then we end with a prayer and leave. We do this every month. Another thing I do each month, which is a blessing, is fasting. Fasting is when each month on the Saturday before the first Sunday we say a prayer for things that we might need for help, it can even be a prayer for others. Then I don't eat for 24 hours. I usually start my fast before dinner on the Saturday then I can end my 24 hour fast at dinner on Sunday in which I give a prayer of thanks for the fasting and then I can eat. I am also able to participate in going to the temple in which I can do baptisms for the dead, which is when I get baptized for those who had died but didn't get the chance to get baptized before they died. Another thing I do is pay my tithing which is when I pay 1/10 of my earnings to the church so that the church can use it to build new churches and temples it other countries where they don't have many. They also use it to help the poor.
