Hi I'm Rick Britton

I am a husband of 37 years, a father of four beautiful children, I love life and yes I am a Mormon!

About Me

I have lived most of my life in Utah although I graduated from a high school in Nebraska. I served as an LDS missionary in Australia which became a great turning point in my life. I have always been one who has loved the Lord but my mission helped me visualize that love in action. I love being a husband, father and grandfather. I love my family more than anything. I have always enjoyed being active in sports of all kinds. I especially like water sports such as water skiing and scuba diving. I enjoy a good game of golf especially when I am with my father or sons. I enjoy reading mostly LDS literature and history. I am always having the most fun when I am with my family. I try to keep fit by working out and going for walks or hikes. I have been self employed all of my life and that has given me some freedom to be involved in the things I enjoy most. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church all of my life. I have read the Book of Mormon more than a hundred times and learn new things each time. I have applied the promise contained at the end Book of Mormon and know that it is the word of the Lord and a second witness of Christ. Through personal study and service in the church I have been given many witnesses that this truly is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it contains the plan of happiness. Following the principles in this book has helped me understand what my purpose on earth is and why following the Savior brings peace in this life and complete joy in the life to come. I do know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I know that Joseph Smith saw them and was taught by them. Because of these visits the gospel and its authority has been restored to the earth again. These are things I have personal sacred knowledge of. This is why I love life.

How I live my faith

For most of my adult life I have worked with youth in church activities. I enjoy working with youth and watching them learn and grow. I have served as a bishop in our ward. This calling taught me more about myself and stretched me beyond my normal capacities. Being a bishop helped me to have a greater love and compassion for those around me. It taught me not to be judgmental and to always give others the benefit of the doubt. Now I am serving with full time missionaries in my ward. I have been serving as a baptizer in the Salt Lake and Bountiful temple for over thirty six years. I am trying to help others come to the same feelings I have about our Father in Heaven and of the purpose of life. I enjoy reaching out to neighbors in true fellowship and concern.
