Hi I'm Jessica

I am a school counselor. I love to run/exercise. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful family that I love to spend time with. I really enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews. Never a dull moment :) I love to travel to different places. Some of my favorite places to go are New York City, San Francisco, and San Diego. I love spending time with my friends and just laughing together. Running and exercise are really important to me. I love the feeling of working hard on a run or in a workout. I also love food. I love to cook, bake, and eat. I work as a school counselor trying to help students with social/emotional issues as well as college and career readiness. There is almost nothing more rewarding than to see students finally start to gain confidence and realize that with a little hard work they can be successful in school. One of my very favorite things to so is go on walks especially in the beautiful nature. I love having to think and reflect as I walk and try to take in the beauty around me.

Why I am a Mormon

The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church once again established on the earth. Found within this church is the priesthood power or power from God to participate and officiate in ordinances to make covenants that will help us return to God. It hold all the precious truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with continuing revelation today through living prophets and apostles on the earth today. I am a Mormon because I know all of that to be true. I've spent many years experimenting on the teachings and principles of the church and know that as you live the gospel you will be happy. Life will not be perfect but as you live the covenants you've made with God the power of the atonement will empower you go through whatever life throws at you, good or bad. I know that God and His Son Jesus Christ love each of us and that they have provided the restored church to bless us and help us draw closer to them.

How I live my faith

I try to be really involved at church. I attend church with other young single adults and there are lots of ways to get involved. Every monday church members have what's called family home evening where families gather and have a gospel lesson, do an activity, and have a treat together. Since we as single adults don't have our own families to gather with yet we hold family home evening activities every Monday with all the members of our ward or congregation. I am part of the committee that organizes and plans our weekly family home evening. I am also involved in something called visiting teaching where I go with another single sister in my congregation to visit other sisters in our congregation. Every month we check in with these girls and see how they are doing, share a spiritual message, and help them with whatever they might need. I love getting to know different girls. It really helps me build my faith and relationships with people I go to church with.
