Hi I'm Steven James Deppe

I grew up in Centerville, Utah. I like to fix and repair cars, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am your basic teenager. I love to be with friends, to go to movies, to read, and to laugh. I absolutely love cars. Every aspect. The specs, the repairs, and the abilities. I also love the outdoors. I'll be serving a mission in Mérida, México until 2016, and then attending college in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I didn't choose to be a member of the church. I was born into it, so it has always been a part of my life. But when I turned 14 the church started to mean a lot more to me than just 3 hours less nap time on Sunday's. Now, I'll be serving a mission. And that is something I'm doing for me. Because I know the church is the best thing for everyone. It provides answer to "unanswerable" questions. It gives reason and logic where there is none. And it gives you something to believe in and have faith in, to hope for, when you would otherwise have nothing.

How I live my faith

Up until recently I was the first assistant in my Priest quorum. I was also President of both the Deacon's and Teacher's quorums at the time I was there. I served on the Stake Youth Committe Chair, and planned activities for my stake's Pioneer Trek. I'm an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Order of the Arrow.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Steven James Deppe
Mormon women are amazing. They are incredibly strong and capable, and make incredible mothers and wives. The Church believes that men and women are equal, and should be treated the same for all intents and purposes. We believe that women should be respected. We know they are capable of opening their own doors, but be believe that opening it is a sign of respect, not an attempt to show dominion. We believe that women do some things better than men, and men do something better than women, but together they can do anything to the best extent possible. That together they are stronger than alone. As in the product is greater than the sum of the parts. Show more Show less
