Hi I'm McKay

I am a high school graduate, a technology geek, a thrill seeker, and an outdoor lover. Best of all? I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love computer hardware, repair and networking. I have about a year's worth of experience in the IT industry and plan to major in Information Systems after I return home from my missionary service. Aside from computers I also have a love for the outdoors and the adventures that can be found there. Whether it's hiking, biking, rafting, swimming, climbing, rappelling or any other crazy adventure yet to be discovered I will take the opportunity to go and do it!

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon (read: a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) because I have found that it is the only way to enjoy true happiness. I have never been happier in my life then when I am worthily fulfilling my duties, callings, and assignments in the Church. In doing so I have also found myself coming closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I know without any doubt in my mind that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. The Spirit of the Lord (The Holy Ghost) has revealed this to me and I cannot deny the truth of it. This knowledge and the happiness that it has brought into my life is why I choose to be a Mormon. It is my hope and prayer that I might be able to bring this knowledge and happiness into the lives of others.

How I live my faith

Having served in many youth leadership positions over the years within my LDS ward, I am now preparing to serve an LDS mission for a period of two years. As I prepare for this wonderful opportunity to share my testimony of the Restored Gospel with others, I begin and end my day with a prayer to my Father in Heaven. I also study my scriptures daily, particularly the Book of Mormon. I am also beginning to study the missionary lesson manual "Preach My Gospel". By praying and studying these different gospel related texts, my testimony has grown so much and I hope that it continues to grow. In addition to these things, I also serve as a home teacher to several families in my ward visiting each of their homes at least once a month. I am very grateful for the opportunities that I have to serve and teach these families. Often times they teach me more than I teach them! Finally in addition to all of this, I just try to act as my Savior Jesus Christ would. Though this is a very lofty goal that I can never perfectly attain on my own, I know it is a very good goal to strive for and I feel the companionship of the Holy Ghost when I am really striving to meet this goal. That pretty much sums up how I try to live my faith, trying to follow the Savior's footsteps in everything I do.
